So it should be no surprise to learn that Huntingdon's U.S. auditor for the last two years - Rotenberg, Meril, and Solomon - had their identity shielded from the public by both industry and the U.S. government in order to protect Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Recent court filings by Rotenberg, Meril and Solomon reveal that the Public Accounting Oversight Board allowed Hugh Scott PC (a ficticious sub-company created by Rotenberg, Meril and Solomon to audit HLS' books) to mask the identity of its directors from their public records in order to keep protected from protest. An FBI agent from New Jersey confirmed the government's involvement, stating, "The U.S. has aided the firm in masking their identity to protect the employees from potential hostility and denial of service to its legitimate clients."

For two years Hugh Scott P.C. - aka Rotenberg, Meril and Solomon - have audited HLS' books from behind a shroud of secrecy - nevermind the fact that the whole points of audits is to provide fiscal transparency to investors and the public.
